Car is Personal Property

Technically, a vehicle is not considered a real property but a personal property. In principle, only those which are “immovable” can be considered real property. Examples of these are plots of land, buildings, residential units, and the improvements within such structures. However, for the reason that cars are personal properties, the owner has every right to use, sell, mortgage, transfer, exchange, destroy and even exclude other people from using them. Therefore, no matter what type of property they are, cars are their owners’ responsibilities. In case any untoward incident happens and the vehicle is the reason (e.g.: reckless driving), the owner will be held answerable.
